Moving Guide

Congratulations and welcome to the 808 on 5th family! We hope that you will enjoy your stay in your new apartment. Below is information you will need to make moving into and out of your apartment as easy as possible.

Before You Move

Utilities

Prior to move in you MUST put utilities (energy/water) in your name. Our Utilities page has all the information you will need to sign up for these utilities as well as other answers to questions you may have.

Schedule Check In/Out

All tenants must schedule a check in/out with management at least 72 hours prior to moving (preferably 2 weeks notice is given). Check in/out is on a first come, first serve basis so plan accordingly.

Renter's Insurance

We highly encourage each tenant to purchase Renter's Insurance to cover the cost of their belongings.

Keys/Garage Access

Tenants will be given 2 sets of keys per apartment. One key fits the exterior doors, and the other will be for your unit. You will also be given 1 mail key. Any lost key will result in a new key charge (per key). All keys must be returned upon check out. Any key’s not returned will result in a re-keying charge equal to landlords actual expense.

If you have garage access you will be given a garage door opener which must be returned upon move out. If not returned you will be charged for replacement.

Moving

Elevator Use While Moving

Management must be contacted 24 hours prior to moving any large furniture in or out of your apartment so moving pads can be hung to protect the elevator walls. Please do not move large furniture if pads have not been hung. Any damage done to the elevator can be charged against the tenant's security deposit.

Parking While Moving

During peak moving periods, you may need to wait upon arrival for a space to park your vehicle. After you park, you need to completely unload/load everything into the staging area (designated parking stalls). After you have unloaded, you will need to move your vehicle out of the area. No more than 45 minutes can be taken to unload/load your vehicle.

Trash and Recycling

There are both Trash and Co-Mingle Recycling dumpsters in the rear parking area of each building. You can recycle cardboard, metal, paper, and plastic items. Glass must be taken to a local recycling drop-off. Cardboard boxes must be flattened. Please place all trash and recycling in the appropriate dumpsters and keep the area neat.

Now that you're moved in...

Review Lease, Maintenance, and Parking Info

You are encouraged to look over lease, maintenance, and parking information. Links to each are provided below.

Rent

Remember rent is to be paid with 1 check each month (even if there are multiple tenants paying) on the 1st of each month. There is a rental dropbox on the first floor near your mailboxes or you can mail a check to the following address.

808 on 5th LLC
3855 Locust Ridge Rd. NE
North Liberty, IA 52317

Please write your building and unit number in the memo line. If depositing the check in the dropbox, you do not need to place the check in an envelope. Here is a sample of how to fill out a rent check.

Correspondence

When you reach out to us via email, text message, voice mail, or on rent checks, please include your building and unit number. We have many tenants in many buildings; this information will help us get back to you faster. To make it easy we have included forms for general questions and maintenance requests.

*It is the tenants responsibility to keep email, phone number, and other contact information up to date with the landlords.
